Leaning Barn Farm, Esko MN (a U-pick Blueberry “farm”) and Towncentre Greens (DBA Highstone Goodworks) is offering cooperatively summer* shares for $480, delivered to the Duluth City Hall on Tuesdays for pick-up between 2-4pm (and/or the Carlton Farmer’s Market on alternating Tuesdays 4-6pm). If you would like to provide your email address with your downpayment of $300 (asap, to secure your spot!) we will keep in weekly touch (BBC) about what is growing and what options there are with “bonus items”. *Weekly deliveries run from July 14th through September 29th. There may be one week “off” in early August (when you’ll be invited and encouraged to come and pick blueberries at a reduced rate for CSA members!) The photos below are all from 2025 deliveries, the first three (with rhubarb, microgreens (wheatgrass), and honey berries) showing the goal of delivering a “June bonus” – hopefully including asparagus this June! And, we also strive for a “Harvest bonus” (that included a lot of carrots last fall) for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Tuesday of October. The full planting list is at the bottom of this page 😊
We are a small (12 shares total; 6 to Ely, 6 to the Carlton/Esko/Duluth area) multi-generational CSA. We have been trying to eat healthier every year – and know it’s a journey! Last season we had a lot of kale and summer squash so I still have some in my own freezer to use in smoothies and soup! If there’s a not-so-common veggie (such as kohlrabi – I’m considering investing in an air-fryer for making healthier “fries” from these and also rutabaga) in deliveries on a certain week, I like to provide my favorite recipe. Also, we succession plant (high tunnel is already growing some of the mid-July pickings) and it is early enough in the season, we can take your request(s) of a favorite beet variety, squash variety, etc. Please email today: heather@towncentregreens.com 😊
